Broadcast Television / Theatrical
Distribution
will be entered into major film festivals across the country to
generate initial interest and press coverage. Our goal is to reach the widest
audience possible in an attempt to raise awareness nationally about the
challenges veterans and their families face when returning from the trauma of
war. Beyond theatrical distribution, we will position Beyond the Wall for
national broadcast on Public Television, and/or major cable television networks
such as HBO.
Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund in Washington, DC
In addition to potential broadcasts on PBS, and the major cable television
networks, VVMF- The
Wall has expressed interest in using the film as part of their
permanent exhibit at the Education
Center currently under
construction at the Vietnam War Memorial site, a site that annually attracts
over 4 million people a year.
Veterans Education Project
The film will also be used in support of the work of VEP, in high
schools, middle schools, youth programs and other centers where young people
gather. And in support groups for veterans of all wars and their
families. They provide innovative and
effective educational and violence awareness programs and have been
instrumental in creating educational materials for the Vietnam Veterans
Memorial Fund in Washington,
DC. They will also be writing the
Discussion Guide to accompany the film.
The Vietnam Veterans of America has
also expressed interest in using the film in their Vet Centers throughout the
country to support families dealing with PTSD.
Beyond the Wall will support the veterans' live presentations in the classroom and
elsewhere to advance social change, human achievement and understanding. It
will be accompanied by a comprehensive Discussion Guide, which will amplify the
issues raised in the film to further enhance and promote understanding. The
guide will be used by the Veterans Education Project and will be made available
to veterans’ families through Veterans of Foreign Wars, Vietnam Veterans of
America, Veterans’ Centers and other outreach centers.
